Testing For My Green Belt

I tested for my green belt today... This will put me at 50% completion for the training required to get my black belt. That's an achievment. Sometimes, though, I wonder why I have such a difficult time focusing. I didn't used to be like that as a kid. I also wonder if it has something to do with having poor eyesight. I didn't wear my glasses to class and for the entire time I was there, I felt like I was in a fog or a daze.

I did break my board. Back kick. I've done front kick, side kick, elbow strike and now the back kick. Watch out! I'm dangerous.

I was at karate from 10 this morning until 2 in the afternoon. Then, I had to rush home, shower, fold a load of clothes and take Keira off to the movies to meet some friends. We were late, her friends didn't show and I left her without finding out if she bought a ticket... She was going to see Harry Potter 4, again. That is the movie they all agreed to see. We thought her friends may have been in the theater so I told her to go ahead and buy the ticket and see if they were in there. Well, the movie was sold out.

Harry Potter 4 has been playing for a while now and I certainly didn't think they'd be sold out still. So she went to see King Kong. So, 3 hours later, she emerged from the movie theater. Now, the movie theater isn't just down the road from us. It is a pretty good haul and the other kids had $25 Target gift cards, which they received from my mother for Christmas, to spend. So, I took them to Target and to get some food because here it was 4 PM and I hadn't eaten since 9 this morning. I was starving.

We do all the shopping and get back over to the theater and waited for an one and a half for Keira to show up. Kaitlyn kept saying, I bet she went to another movie... Sure enough, she did. But shame on me for not having waited for her to buy her ticket, what was I thinking?

Well, even I still have something to learn about parenting. I really need a cell phone, too.

Then, I had to get cat food before I could go home. We were out. Target didn't have any that I could find. So, over to Kroger. Pick up some other items and head home only to learn that I was locked out. I had given the key to the kids the other day and have not put it back on my keychain and my husband had left to go do his regular Saturday thing. In Nashville, no less.

So, here it is, 8 PM and I have groceries, I have been gone from the house pretty much since 9:40 this morning and I'm locked out of the house. I had no cash on me to stop at a payphone. I went to the nearest friend's house and she was gone, next on to the kids friends, they were closer than my next nearest friend... They were home and kindly let me borrow their phone. Did I mention that I need a cell phone?

After talking with my husband, it was agreed that I would meet him halfway (of sorts). So, back on the road, drive to go get key, head home, unpack grocery things and finally, FINALLY, get to change my clothes and relax.

A very long day, indeed.
